About Cleave
I love to travel, and I’ve always spent a lot of time researching trips. Where to stay, where to eat, what neighborhoods to wander through, what might actually be worth making time for.
But researching sometimes feels like a full-time job. There are too many lists, reviews, rankings, videos and recommendations. One thing is for sure, there’s no shortage of information.
That’s why I started Cleave, to share travel inspiration, one city at a time, through a simple, personal perspective. It’s not another guide to everything you should do in a city, and definitely not another list of the “best” places. Each month, I share my take on a city, edited down to the things actually worth knowing, remembering or visiting. It’s for a trip next month, someday, or not at all.
I also wanted to make something physical. In an era of endless scrolling, I think there’s something nice about getting mail. So Cleave arrives as a printed card, with a small map, a coaster inspired by the city (not souvenir-looking) and a little extra that’s different each time. The idea is that every issue adds a city to your collection, so you get something to read, but also something to keep.
No hotel, restaurant or business pays me to be included; what appears in Cleave is there only because I believe it deserves to be.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Thank you!
