About Me & Cleave

I love to travel, and I’ve always spent a LOT of time sorting through travel content. Reading about places to stay, where to eat, what neighborhoods to wander through, what might actually be worth making time for (or not) in a city.

Most of the time this felt like a full-time job. There are way too many lists, reviews, rankings and recommendations, each trying to cover every kind of traveler. One thing is for sure, there’s no shortage of information.

That’s why I started Cleave, to share travel inspiration, one city at a time, through a simple, personal perspective. It’s not another guide to everything you should do in a city, and definitely not another list of the “best” places. Each month, I share my take on a city, edited down to the things actually worth knowing, remembering or visiting. It’s for a trip next month, someday, or not at all.

I also wanted to make something physical. In an era of endless scrolling, I think there’s something nice about getting mail. So Cleave arrives as a printed card, with a small map, a coaster inspired by the city (not souvenir-looking) and a little extra that’s different each time. The idea is that every issue adds a city to your collection, so you get something to read, but also something to keep.

No hotel, restaurant or business pays me to be included; what appears in Cleave is there only because I believe it deserves to be.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Thank you!
